Recommended Ceiling Heights for Low Profile Ceiling Fan

According to National Electric Code, the ceiling fan should hang no less than seven feet from the floor level for the safety.  If your room has a ceiling height of no more than seven feet and six inches, it is necessary to use a low profile ceiling fan instead of a regular fan.
